This editorial examines the developments in medical education since COVID-19 completely upended the system. It uses some recent research from the "Journal of Medical Education Development" to determine what is currently effective. We're discussing topics like modernizing the curriculum, incorporating cutting-edge digital tools like artificial intelligence and data tools, and genuinely caring about students' mental health and motivation. The manuscript also explores how experiential learning approaches—think WebQuest and educational games—are helping, why OSCE preparation requires serious consideration, and how students' knowledge gained outside of the classroom (the "hidden curriculum") influences their future careers as doctors. The bottom line? Medical schools must strike a balance between maintaining their scientific integrity, being adaptable, and ensuring that students are not experiencing burnout.
