Background & Objective: The educational climate is an important learning tool with a great impact on the satisfaction and academic success of students. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating operating room (OR (educational climate and its relationship with moral distress of operating room technology students.
Materials and Méthodes: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 58 undergraduate operating room technology students from North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences in 2022. Purposeful sampling was done in the form of census from qualified academic departments. Three questionnaires of demographic information, IMOTEC and moral distress were used to collect information. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson’s correlation coefficient as well as multiple linear regression analysis at 95% confidence level using SPSS 26 software.
Results: Mean score of OR educational climate was 71.14±12.01. The rate of moral distress in severity and frequency dimensions was 1.87±1.08 and 1.79±0.94, respectively. There was an inverse significant relationship between mean of educational environment with severity (p<001) and frequency (p<05) of moral distress.
Conclusion: Considering that the educational climate is one of the effective factors on moral distress, it seems that improving the educational climate of OR environment plays a special role in reducing the moral distress of students.
