en منابع کنونی زبان انگلیسی نیازهای دانشجویان پزشکی را برآورده نمی سازند: بررسی واژه های منابع و سؤال‌های زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع علوم پایه پزشکی آموزش پزشکی Medical Education پژوهشي اصیل Orginal Research <strong>مقدمه</strong>: با توجه به اهمیت زبان انگلیسی برای دانشجویان پزشکی، این پژوهش با هدف بررسی شاخص‌های واژگانی در منابع و سؤال‌های زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع علوم پایه پزشکی در ایران انجام گرفت.<span dir="LTR"></span><br> <strong>مواد و روش‌ها</strong>: بعد از گردآوری متون منابع و دسته‌بندی واژگان آن‌ها، متون ‌نهایی از لحاظ پوشش واژگان، اندازه واژگان، و سطح واژگان بررسی شدند. همچنین، پوشش واژگان پنج آزمون زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع علوم پایه پزشکی در این منابع بررسی شد. <span dir="LTR"></span><br> <strong>یافته‌ها</strong>: نتایج بررسی 89،021 واژه متشکل از 9،683 نوع واژه و 5،938 واژه-خانواده نشان داد که واژگان کاکسهد (<span dir="LTR">Coxhead</span>) پوشش 27/6% و واژگان سو (<span dir="LTR">Hsu</span>) پوشش 11/6% در منابع زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع علوم پایه پزشکی داشتند. واژگان هیچکدام از 5 آزمون زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع پوشش 98 درصدی در منابع نداشتند. اندازه واژگان پنج منبع 5،938 واژه-خانواده بود که با معیار حداقل 8000 واژه-خانواده‌ای فاصله زیادی داشت. همچنین، واژگان پنج منبع در سطح 14 قرار داشتند. <span dir="LTR"></span><br> <strong><span dir="RTL">بحث و نتیجه‌گیری</span></strong>: <span dir="RTL">با توجه به نتایج این پژوهش</span><span dir="RTL">، به نظر می‌رسد که منابع زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع علوم پایه پزشکی نیازهای دانشجویان پزشکی را از جمله گذراندن آزمون زبان انگلیسی امتحان جامع و خواندن و درک مطلب متون پزشکی به زبان انگلیسی برآورده نمی‌کنند. بنابراین، معرفی منابع بیشتر زبان انگلیسی با شاخص‌های واژگانی بالاتر از طرف وزارت بهداشت یا حداقل از طرف مدرس مربوطه پیشنهاد می‌گردد.</span> <strong>Background & Objective:</strong> Given the importance of the English language for medical students, this study investigated the lexical characteristics in the English language references and tests of the Comprehensive Examination of Basic Medical Sciences (CEBMS) in Iran.<br> <strong>Materials and Methods:</strong> After the texts of the references were collected and their words were classified, the final texts were analyzed for lexical coverage, vocabulary size and vocabulary level. The lexical coverage of five CEBMS English language tests in the references was also surveyed.<br> <strong>Results:</strong> Surveying 89,021 tokens (running words) consisting of 9,683 word types and 5,938 word families showed the lexical coverage of 6.27% for Coxhead&#39;s word list and 6.11% for Hsu&#39;s word list in the English language references of the CEBMS. The vocabulary in none of the five CEBMS English language tests had the 98% lexical coverage in the references. The vocabulary size in the five references included 5,938 word families, which was much lower than the threshold of at least 8,000 word families. Also, the vocabulary level of the five references was at Level 14.<br> <strong>Conclusion:</strong> Considering the results of this study, it seems that the English language references of the CEBMS do not satisfy medical students&#39; needs including passing the English language test of the CEBMS and comprehending medical texts in English.
